THE STANLY COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS REGULAR MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2016 HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2016 AT 9:00 A.M.

 

LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTING FOR THE 

NOVEMBER 8, 2016 ELECTION

WILL ALSO BE CONDUCTED AT THIS TIME.

 

THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE

BOARD OF ELECTIONS OFFICE,

LOCATED AT THE STANLY COUNTY COMMONS,

1000 N FIRST STREET SUITE 16 ALBEMARLE

Please complete a precinct official application if you would like to work at a polling location during the Presidential Election.
 
Important Voting Dates and Deadlines
Absentee Voting By-Mail Begins September 9, 2016
Voter Registration & Party Change Deadline   October 14, 2016
One-Stop Early Voting Begins October 20, 2016 (8:30am)
Last day to request an absentee by mail ballot   November 1, 2016 (5:00pm)
One Stop Voting Ends   November 5, 2016 (1:00 pm)
Last Day to Return an Absentee Ballot By-Mail   November 8, 2016 (5:00pm)
 Election Day   November 8, 2016 (6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.)

One-Stop Voting
One Stop Voting will begin October 20th at 8:30 a.m.
A specific plan of dates, times, and locations is pending
State Board of Elections approval.

Same Day Registration
Eligible individuals may register and vote during the one-stop early voting period.  This “same-day registration” option is currently available through the November 8th General Election, through the option remains the subject of ongoing litigation in federal court. Please check back for updates.

2016 Voter Photo ID Information
 
On July 29, 2016, a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit struck down photo ID requirements and associated laws in North Carolina (S.L. 2013-381, as amended by S.L. 2015-103).  The state is considering its options.  Barring a different outcome on appeal, photo ID will not be required in the upcoming general election.  Further details will be posted as they become available.
