 PUBLIC NOTICE

Governor McCrory has signed House Bill 2 into law, which eliminates second primaries this election cycle and establishes a June 7 Primary for U.S. House under new district boundaries.


Primary Sample Ballots
Republican Ballots: R001
Non-Partisan Ballot: N002
*Unaffiliated voters may choose to vote the Republican ballot or the Nonpartisan ballot.
*Democrats & Libertarians will receive the Nonpartisan ballot.

Important Voting Dates and Deadlines
Absentee Voting By-Mail Begins April 18, 2016
Voter Registration & Party Change Deadline   May 13, 2016
One-Stop Early Voting Begins May 26, 2016
Last day to request an absentee by mail ballot   May 31, 2016 (5:00pm)
One Stop Voting Ends   June 4, 2016 (1:00 pm)
Last Day to Return an Absentee Ballot By-Mail   June 7, 2016 (5:00pm)

Weekdays, May 26th - June 3rd     8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
&
Saturday, June 4th     8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
 
(Closed May 30th  for Memorial Day)
 
 
Same Day Registration
Eligible individuals may register and vote during the one-stop early voting period.  This ôsame-day registrationö process is currently permitted due to a preliminary injunction granted under a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, but this option remains the subject of ongoing litigation in federal court.  Please check back for updates. For additional information on how to Register and vote during the One Stop Early Voting period, see the  Notice to Same Day Registrations.
